Ou Ritthy has obtained over a decade of work experience in youth engagement & empowerment, market research & analysis, political & media monitoring, private sector engagement, local enterprise capacity building, and investment promotion with local and international organizations, including the UN agencies such as ILO and UNIDO in Cambodia.
From 2011 to 2016, Ritthy was a blogger actively offering socio-political analysis to journalists, foreign diplomats, researchers, donors, and investors. His opinions appeared in the New York Times, BBC, Al Jazeera, Reuters, Time Magazine, and local media. He has been invited to share Cambodia’s socio-economic development, civil society space, youth empowerment, democratic process, and geopolitics with international audiences in India, Korea, the US, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Kenya, Mongolia, and several ASEAN countries. Ritthy was invited by US Embassy Phnom Penh in 2019 for exposure visits in four states in the US through the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) which is the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange program.
Ritthy graduated with a BA in Political Science from Pune University in 2011 with support from the Indian Council for Cultural Relations scholarship and an MSc in Public Policy and Human Development from the United Nations University- MERIT in 2017, sponsored by the Civil Society Leadership Awards of Open Society Foundations. He was also awarded fully-funded scholarships to attend summer courses in writing & debate skills, political economy & American studies, and political economics (digital politics) in Chiang Mai University, Hong Kong University, and Sciences Po, respectively.
